Are you looking for ways to make money online?
Have you had some unexpected expenses arise, like me, and you’re searching for extra revenue streams to supplement your current income?
Well, I’ve got some good news for you.
You may have heard of crowdsourcing.
Crowdsourcing is the process of getting work or funding, usually online, from a crowd of people. The word is a combination of the words ‘crowd’ and ‘outsourcing’. The idea is to take work and outsource it to a crowd of workers. –DailyCrowdsource.com
It’s a fancy (and trendy!) word, and when stated simply means — there are some super cool sites that provide fun, easy, and legit ways to make money online!
I’ve used some of these sites to make some extra cash and to hire specialized help to complete a project.
Earlier, we showed you some ways to get cash fast. But if you’re more interested in ways to make money on the Internet, I’m here to tell you there are lots of interesting ways to earn cash on the side via crowdsourcing.
Here are 5 of my favorite sites that have unique ways to make money online:
#1 – Spare5
Companies like IBM, Microsoft, and Pinterest have used Spare5 to train their natural language processing and computer vision algorithms.
Spare 5 pays you to help companies with small tasks like image annotation, keyword identification, and audio file language assessment.
Simply stated, Spare5 pays you to do things like:
- Write image titles
- Find objects in images
- Rate articles
- Locate email addresses and phone numbers
- Match products
Sounds pretty easy, right?
If you like the idea of being at the forefront in terms of assisting with artificial intelligence and earning extra cash at the same time, then you’ll definitely want to investigate Spare5 online.
Here’s a review of the Spare5 app.
#2 – Freelancer
I have firsthand experience with Freelancer — and it’s very positive. I built a website for a friend of mine who went into business for herself.
I was very confident in building the site, but not confident about designing a logo for her — since design isn’t my specialty.
Here’s what I did after I registered on Freelancer:
- Created a brief description of the logo I wanted
- Specified the schedule, cost range, and expected logo formats
Freelancer connected me with designers who agreed to work within my price range and requests. It was a seamless arrangement, and my client (the friend who hired me to do the website) didn’t have to worry about any of the details!
Freelancer takes on work of any level from small jobs to hourly work. Some of the projects on the site include fixing a programming error in WordPress, doing local photography for an event, and performing skilled clerical work on an ongoing, part-time basis.
Here are some testimonials from Freelancer users.
#3 – CrowdFlower
CrowdFlower gives you ways to make money online in your spare time by completing general tasks — like article writing, completing search engine tasks, and categorizing data.
We needed a way to scalably measure search results quality. We needed to look at the impact of algorithms in search results relevancy and CrowdFlower provides a way to do that. Our search results have gotten measurably better and we’ve been able to increase revenue, so it’s been a real winner in terms of user experience and income. Source
As a CrowdFlower worker, you can be located anywhere and you aren’t restricted to the amount of mini-tasks you’re able to complete.
If you have a flexible schedule, CrowdFlower might be just what you need to pick up a few extra dollars on the side.
#4 – Scripted
Do you like to read? Have excellent grammar? A competent speller?
If so, then you might want to check out Scripted for ways to make money online.
Scripted lets you earn extra income by creating written content for businesses.
One of the most beneficial parts of the platform is how the content reviewing system works. We love the ways in which writers of different levels can be selected and the excellent customer support Scripted offers. We hope to continue this relationship well into the year. Source
From product descriptions to business reviews, as a Scripted writer you’ll be creating content in a variety of different formats for business owners to post on their own sites.
All content supplied to Scripted is ghost written — so don’t expect to see your own name in print or to be credited for creating the content you supply.
The income you receive will be your only reward. That’s enough for me — how about you?
#5 – SketchDeck
SketchDeck helps their clients create marketing assets. For example, Sketchdeck can help a team create a project in minutes and receive a first draft back within 24 hours.
If you’re have design skills — or you’re working as a freelance designer currently — then this is the site for you!
Freelance designers are matched to companies that need short-term design assistance via SketchDeck.
Projects are usually mock-ups that just need final tweaking or completed presentations that require a final once-over inspection from a design professional.
Here are some Sketchdeck reviews.
As an increasing number of companies are allowing remote workers, the ability to work from home has become an attractive option to many who have a unique set of skills.
By combining telecommuting and crowdsourcing, it’s definitely possible to earn extra money while sitting at home in your pajamas!
