decorated-rain-barrel-by-srgpix.jpg Did you know that, even if you’re living paycheck to paycheck, you can still save a little bit of money every single month?

In fact, you can do it simply — without having to physically put cash aside each month too!

Check out these 5 ways to save $50 a month.

Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Shop the outer aisles at the grocery store.
This is where the healthier foods are kept. You’ll save money and lose weight if you shop there and avoid the processed foods in the middle.

  • Choose recreation instead of entertainment.
When you change  your thinking to doing something recreational (like hiking, biking, or going to a local park and playing frisbee), then you’ll save money. Things like movies and theatre give you only a few hours of enjoyment and cost more.

  • Visit your local library.
You can surf the net, check out the latest bestseller, and even check out DVDs. Do all this instead of buying new, and you’ll save money.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

You can save even more money on your water bill. Have you ever thought about harvesting rain water? Some enterprising people are saving a lot of money each month on their water bills by harvesting rain water.

My favorite things to write about are topics that have to do with pregnancy, weddings, saving money, living green, and life with dogs. When I’m not writing, I love to spend time with my husband, read, create 3D artwork and Native American beadwork.

LynnetteAlways on the lookout for a good bargain, I consider myself a frugal person -- but not cheap. And not afraid to spend money on the things that matter. I like to share good deals with others when I find them. One of my favorite ways to save money is to reuse items in ways other than their intended purpose -- so I write a lot about outside-the-box ideas that most people wouldn't think of! When I'm not saving money or looking for good deals, you'll find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun & helpful websites).
